383492073532285The Attorney General of Peru, Patricia Benavides, presented a constitutional complaint in Congress this Tuesday () against the country’s president, Pedro Castillo, for allegedly leading a criminal organization, for influence peddling and complicity in fraudulent concessions of public works contracts.
The announcement was made by the Public Ministry on social networks. The complaint must now be evaluated by the Congressional Subcommittee on Constitutional Charges, which, if it deems it admissible, will forward it to the Standing Committee for consideration before it goes to the plenary to vote.
383492073532285According to the document sent to Parliament, the attorney general accuses Castillo of crimes against the public administration in the form of trafficking in aggravated influence and being an accomplice to crimes against the public administration in the form of collusion.
