17164743An attack committed by jihadists was recorded this Sunday (
), in the city of Jowhar, about 90 kilometers from the Somali capital, Mogadishu. Using a car bomb, terrorists from the jihadist group Al-Shabab attacked the Nuur Doob hotel, known for hosting members of the Hirshabelle state government. The explosion caused at least three deaths and injured nine other people, including ministers and regional deputies.
Among the victims are the Minister of State for Women, Asha Khalif, the Minister of State for Health, Abdi Moalim and the former speaker of the parliament of Hirshabelle. No information was released on the condition of the injured. The dead would be two hotel security guards and a deputy whose name was not revealed. Images released by Somali National TV showed the hotel completely destroyed, as well as the nearby buildings.
