There is no doubt that Kalyani Priyadarshan is soon becoming one of the most sought-after talents in Malayalam film. She is quickly ascending the ranks to secure this position. Her most recent role was in the coming-of-age sports drama Sesham Mike-il Fathima, which depicts the struggles of a typical Muslim girl from a village in Malabar who has aspirations of becoming a football commentator. The actress was recently seen in the film.
Sesham Mike-ill Fathima OTT Release Date
Sesham Mike-ill Fathima is all set to premiere on 15 December 2023 on Netflix.
When Fathima was a child, she was immediately captivated to the sport of football. She is a devotee of both Brazil and Real Madrid, and she takes great pleasure in calling the game whenever she watches her beloved side compete. She is encouraged by her brother, Shaheen Siddique, who also extends an invitation to her to provide commentary on seven-a-side matches that take place in Malappuram.
In a short amount of time, Fathima will have access to new opportunities, and she will start to dream big, with the hope of being chosen to be a pundit for the Indian Federation League. It is the challenges and dangers that she faces in order to realise her ambition that serve as the central focus of the film.
Despite the fact that the premise is intriguing, the filmmakers continue to adhere to the tried-and-true template of sports drama, which is the underdog triumphing against all odds. The challenges that the protagonist faces, on the other hand, appear to be trivial and underdeveloped.
In spite of the fact that we feel compassion for Fathima and are pleased with her achievements, we are unable to empathise with her grief. The remark, on the other hand, conveyed in the Malappuram dialect is really lovely. The commentary that Fathima has so deftly produced, which is paced up with the tempo of the players, is quite relaxing to the ears.

The caption that appears on the streaming alert poster reads, “NINGAL IDHU KAANUKA!! The phrase “Mike-il ippo Fathima vannu etheetundu” which literally translates to “Look at this, you need to look at this” is a humorous remark that is a reference to a humorous quip that was spoken during a football commentary session and went viral on social media.
Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran was the one who operated the camera, while Kiran Das was the one who edited the movie. This is Sesham. An original musical score for Mike-il Fathima was composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab. In an effort to combat the traditional gender norms and obstacles that are associated with women participating in sports, the film makes an unsuccessful attempt.

What’s the story of Sesham Mike-ill Fathima
The protagonist of the tale is Fathima (Kalyani Priyadarshan), an enthusiastic, wide-eyed prospective football pundit who first finds her brother, Aneesh, to be her biggest fan. Sudeesh, who portrays her father, used to play football.
She was raised knowing and loving football, and she always has to be talking about it wherever she goes. Later, she travels from Malappuram to Kochi after deciding to pursue a profession as a football pundit. The main plot of the movie is what happens next.
The plot veers off course after a while, and her journey has been seen in other films of a similar nature. Her’struggle’ is not really relatable. In fact, the character becomes obnoxious at one point due to the way she is written.
The voyage is quite flimsy and makes extensive use of elements that have previously been seen in badly directed sports films with female leads. It was alright, Femina George’s role as the ‘friend’ or rather, sidekick. Shaheen Siddique played a gloomy, depressed football player who was going to be suspended. Once more, he had nothing much to do.
