He rose to prominence as one of Oakland’s top stand-up comedians. Talkin’ Dirty After Dark, a 1991 movie, gave him his first acting job. He was chosen to play Mr. Cooper in the 1992 film Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. The program ran until 1997.
