JioHotstar is all set to strengthen its regional content lineup with the launch of Cousins & Kalyanams, a new Malayalam romantic comedy-drama series that will premiere on May 29, 2026. The series is already generating attention for being promoted as JioHotstar’s first long-running Malayalam web series.

Produced by The Epic Company, the show is directed by Vishnu Chandran and Kannan Thamarakkulam, while the screenplay and writing are handled by Praveen Balakrishnan.
What makes Cousins & Kalyanams unique is its long-format storytelling approach. The makers have planned a total of 60 episodes, with four episodes scheduled to stream every Friday on JioHotstar. The series will follow the emotional, dramatic, and humorous journey of six cousins across 26 years and seven weddings, exploring themes of family bonding, friendships, romance, misunderstandings, and relationships.
The story is expected to blend youthful energy with emotional family moments, making it appealing to both younger viewers and family audiences. The makers are reportedly focusing on relatable situations and culturally rooted storytelling filled with fun and emotional twists.
The lead cast includes Nainita Maria, Nandita, Manaswini Ram, Manya Mallika, Siddharth Babu, and Krishna Vijay in pivotal roles. On the technical side, the series features cinematography by Noushad Sheriff, editing by Sooraj E.S., and music composed by Sudeep Palanad.
Apart from Malayalam, Cousins & Kalyanams will also stream in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, helping the platform reach a wider audience across India.
With regional OTT content continuing to grow rapidly, Cousins & Kalyanams appears to be another major step by JioHotstar toward investing in culturally connected family entertainment and long-format storytelling.
