
18081113The basic food basket in Chile has exceeded 58 thousand pesos (BRL 960 ) for the first time in July, which represents an increase of 20,6% in months, the largest since the beginning of the historical series, the country’s government said this Wednesday (08).
The Ministry of Social Development, which measures this index since 2013, released in a new report that the basket increased by 2.7% only in the seventh month of the year, above the Consumer Price Index (IPC), which registered a monthly variation of 1.4% in the same period.
The numbers are also higher than those recorded last month in the IP food and non-alcoholic beverage segment C, which includes other products: 1.9% in the month only and 12,4% accumulated in months.18081113
Among the 58 products that make up the basic food basket, 84% had increases in prices, and on average they were 2.9%.
