The Minister of Economy of Argentina, Martín Guzmán, resigned this Saturday (2). In a seven-page letter addressed to President Alberto Fernández and published on a social network, the economist communicated the decision, but did not say the reason for his departure.
In the communiqué, he praised the government’s achievements since December 2021, including the renegotiation of the Argentine debt with the International Monetary Fund, approved in March 2022.
The publication of the letter took place at the moment when Vice President Cristina Kirchner was making a speech in which she criticized the minister and the economic path of the president. She and Guzmán had already clashed on other occasions.
