The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, said that at least one person died and several were injured after a Russian bombing this Saturday morning (dawn in Brazil), according to information from the CNN channel. According to the mayor, Russian rockets caused explosions in the Darnytsky neighborhood, far from the city centre. Klitschko said that everyone who has left Kiev since the Russian invasion is yet to return, as the capital remains on high alert. Over the past week, Russia had threatened to attack Kiev in retaliation for alleged Ukrainian actions in Russian cities on the two countries’ border. The Ukrainian government claims that the attacks were staged by Russia.

The most intense Russian actions this Saturday are located in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, especially in Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk, also according to CNN. They would be a response to the sinking of the cruiser Moskva

(“Moscow”), the main ship of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, and a preview of a major Russian land offensive in the Donbas region. The Ukrainian government has asked civilians to leave the attacked areas – out of 330 a thousand people who lived in the Luhansk region outside the control of Russian separatists, there are still thousand in the area under attack.
