Banks across several Indian states will remain closed on Wednesday, November 5, in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday schedule, both public and private sector banks will suspend counter operations in multiple regions. This closure may affect customers who have planned in-person branch visits or time-sensitive transactions on the day.

According to the RBI’s official list, banks will be closed on November 5, 2025, in the following states and Union Territories:

Customers in these states are advised to plan ahead and complete any branch-based activities such as cheque clearances, cash deposits, and demand draft issuance before the holiday.
Upcoming Bank Holidays in November 2025
November 6: Banks will be closed in Bihar and Meghalaya due to the Nongkrem Dance Festival and Bihar Legislative Assembly General Elections. November 7: Meghalaya will observe a holiday for the Wangala Festival. November 8: Karnataka will observe Kanakadasa Jayanthi.
Online Banking Services to Remain Unaffected
Even though physical bank branches will remain closed, digital banking services such as UPI, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, and ATMs will function normally. Customers can continue to transfer funds, pay bills, and check account balances without interruption.
Those requiring in-person assistance should visit their bank branches either before or after November 5 to avoid inconvenience.
