Gujarat’s leading agricultural company, Zydus Cadila, which is developing a corona vaccine, today announced the results of the first and second phase trials of its ZyCoV-D corona vaccine. The company will soon launch the phase 3 clinical trial and test more than 30,000 volunteers.
The government has requested approval for a third phase of testing
The results of phase 1-2 of the Covid-19 vaccine have been submitted to the Central Organization for the Control of Pharmaceuticals Standards, the company said in a statement. Zydes requested permission from the authority to begin the third phase of testing. Previously, the company announced that the Phase 3 clinical trial would launch in December.
So far the test results are certain: Pankaj Patel
“The results of the clinical trial have shown that the vaccine is safe and immunogenic,” said Pankaj Patel, president of Zydus. We are also optimistic about the results of the Phase 3 clinical trial and are able to start production of the vaccine after the test is successful. I thank all the volunteers who have participated in the study so far and helped us evaluate the Covid-19 vaccine.
