Vikings Valhalla Season 2: The historical action drama takes place near the conclusion of the Viking Age, when descendants of powerful Vikings are divided into warring factions and bigger imperialistic powers lie in the world beyond. It is set in the early 11th Century, more than 100 years after the History Channel series Vikings.
The principal trio must now follow their destinies abroad in the world because they are now Kattegat fugitives following the terrible events of the season finale. The second season will take place outside of Scandinavia and Northern Europe and introduce a fresh cast of intriguing characters, including fervent pagan Vikings, Muslim astronomers, con artists, and generals of the Byzantine Empire.

Vikings Valhalla Season 2 Plot
After the last few moments of Season 1, the second season begins. After Kattegat fell, Leif, Harald, and Freyd are now refugees on the run. Following their successful escape from Jarl Kare and Olaf, the brave Viking trio must travel to new places outside of Scandinavia. Freyd finds herself in the fabled, brutal Viking fortress of Jómsborg in Pomerania, while Leif and Harald pursue Constantinople in a lawless fashion by sailing down the Dnieper River.
Along the road, there will be many war cries and bloodshed, and the three will forge new connections with both allies and adversaries. The entire first season of Vikings: Valhalla is available on Netflix if you want to catch up on or rewatch the exciting action leading up to the release of Season 2.
Vikings Valhalla season 2 cast
The Vikings welcome back a number of significant players, including: Leif Eriksson is portrayed by Leo Suter in Season 2 of Valhalla, while Harald Sigurdsson is portrayed by Sam Corlett from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
While Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson plays Jarl Olaf Haraldsson, who was responsible for a tragic death in the season 1 finale and will undoubtedly have an impact on the upcoming episodes, Frida Gustavsson also stars as Freyd’s Eirksdóttir.
Along with many newcomers, the cast features Bradley Freegard as King Canute, Laura Berlin as Queen Emma of Normandy, Soren Pilmark as King Forkbeard, and David Oakes as Earl Godwin. Bradley James, a former Merlin actor who played Lord Harekr in the Vikings: Valhalla season 2 trailer, is maybe the most notable.
Of course, not every character survived, so despite Caroline Henderson’s earlier suggestion that she might return as a “ghost or something,” we don’t anticipate seeing any more of Liv played by Lujza Richter or Jarl Estrid Haakon played by Caroline Henderson.
The creator of Valhalla, Jeb Stuart, has hinted that people from the original Vikings series’ ancestry may make an appearance in the show’s later seasons, which would serve as a fan-pleasing link between the two programmes.

The second season of Vikings: Valhalla will be available on Netflix on January 13, 2023. Vikings: Vahalla will return for season 3 as well, with production starting in May 2022.
