Venezuela and Russia have prepared several agreements to be signed in and 09 in Caracas, during a meeting of the high-level intergovernmental commission (CIAN) of which both countries are part, as reported by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday ().

In a statement, the ministry stated that the review of these future agreements, about which it did not provide further details, took place during a meeting between the Minister of Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in Moscow.

In addition to the chancellor, Venezuela was represented by the ambassador in Russia sia, Jesus Salazar; the Minister of Industry, Hipólito Abreu; the deputy minister for Europe, Yvan Gil; and the president of the state oil company (PDVSA), Asdrúbal Chávez.

Faría explained that the meeting was “an extraordinary opportunity to share visions and consolidate the progress of joint projects”.

The meeting took place as part of the visit of a Venezuelan delegation to Russia to participate at the International Energy Week Forum 2022, which ends this Friday (10).

During this visit to Moscow, Faria met with Russian Chancellor Sergey Lavrov and analyzed the progress of bilateral projects, while committing to raise the strategic level of diplomatic relations.

In February of this year, representatives of both governments held a union in Caracas, in which they expressed their intention to expand bilateral cooperation, currently based on more than 15 agreements in different areas, according to with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela.
