Varalaru Mukkiyam Movie OTT Release Date

Varalaru Mukkiyam was released on December 09, 2022 now the film is all set to hit OTT space on January 15, 2023 on Netflix.

Jiiva is an actor with excellent comic timing. He has proved it time and again with films like Siva Manasula Sakthi, Nanban, and Endrendrum Punnagai. However, over the past few years, we have seen the films not doing justice to his potential. Sadly, his latest release, Varalaru Mukkiyam is no different. In fact, it is Jiiva’s playfulness and charms that makes the film barely watchable.

When and Where to Watch Varalaru Mukkiyam Movie

You can watch it on Netflix on January 15, 2023. It would appear that this movie’s director, Santhosh Rajan, was inspired to do the project by Santhosh P. Jayakumar’s previous work in the genre of adult comedy. Sadly, the fact that even the latter have moved on from such crude attempts just makes this film appear to be even more obsolete than it already was.

It seems as though the uninspired writing and the infantile concepts are competing with one another to see which of the two may be considered the more dated. In one scenario, after Karthik has beaten up the men who are pursuing his sister, his friend asks him if he isn’t doing the same thing with Yamuna.

This occurs after Karthik has beaten up the men who are stalking his sister. He justifies saying, “Avangala annoy panra maadhiri panna koodathu” and then does the same. Worse yet, he informs her that she is both luring and torturing him in the relationship! The casual misogyny even comes as visual clues. During the scene in which Karthik is having a conversation with Yamuna about weaponry, the camera moves down to her chest and then even lower. The irony is that she falls for it as well and begins romantically involved with him!

What’s the story of Varalaru Mukkiyam

Even before we get a chance to get our hopes up, the very first scene in Varalaaru Mukkiyam destroys whatever anticipation we may have had about the film, no matter how low it may have been. What we are subjected to instead is two and a half hours of a misogynistic, inane, humourless nonsense that is so juvenile and lacking even in narrative tension. Karthik (Jiiva), who insists that he is a YouTuber despite the fact that we hardly see him do anything other than pursue Yamuna (Kashmira Pardeshi), the so-called “Mallu girl” who has recently moved into his neighbourhood, is the primary focus of the movie.

However, for the most part, the movie is basically meandering from one worthless scene to the next without any real direction or purpose. If we were to be so kind as to call this “the plot,” then it would be about whether or not he finally gets to marry her. Somewhere in the middle of all of this is the character of VTV Ganesh, who plays a minister who is Karthik’s friend and romantic counsellor.

Cast & Crew of Varalaru Mukkiyam

There are very few positive aspects to this situation. Even if the climax part has a crazy amount of energy, it only appears thrilling on a conceptual level. Even still, it’s exciting. Jiiva puts out his best effort, yet it appears that his efforts are being wasted. He persists in giving his all to screenplays that he shouldn’t have selected in the first place, much like someone who diligently keeps polishing a piece of rock without realising that it’s not diamond. He’s like someone who keeps polishing the rock without realising that it’s not diamond. You feel like telling him, Varalaaru mukkiyam, but script selection adha vida mukkiyam.

The screenplay was authentically engaging, and supporting performances from performers like as Santhanam, Anuya Bhagwat, and Urvashi were really impressive. Unfortunately, in the case of Varalaru Mukkiyam, all of the responsibility falls on Jiiva. VTV Ganesh, playing the role of the stereotypical hero’s sidekick, puts forth a lot of effort, but Santhanam is simply too much for him. In this scenario, he is a politician with an overwhelming need to have sexual encounters. A groaning noise is played in the background whenever an adult joke is being told. Even a scene in which someone discusses the significance of getting an education about sexuality is included. It’s a shame to see filmmakers turning to such low-quality gags in order to get a laugh out of their audience.

Varalaru Mukkiyam Movie OTT release date

In essence, Varalaru Mukkiyam is a romantic comedy that makes extensive use of all of the genre’s cliches and clichés. There are two female leads, Kashmira Pardeshi and Pragya Nagra, who portray sisters, and the hero develops feelings for both of them, but ultimately decides to go with the “prettier” of the two. After persistently following the girl, he is eventually successful in winning her over; nevertheless, he gets into a fight when someone follows and bothers his sister. When one of Karthik’s friends calls him out on his hypocrisy, he responds by saying, “Love pannanum da.. intha maathiri annoy panna koodadhu.” It is vital to have a clear understanding of the distinction between the feelings of “love” and “irritation,” and I sincerely hope that the director is aware of this. The pointless reminder that is Varalaru Mukkiyam is that there was once a period when films that were stupid and illogical were passed off as popular comedies. A flashback to that time period isn’t a very significant part of history to relive.
