President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) would have asked the President of the United States, Democrat Joe Biden, for help in his campaign for re-election against former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) during a private meeting during the Summit of the Americas. The information is from the American agency Bloomberg, according to which Bolsonaro would have portrayed the former president as a “danger to the interests of the United States”.

Last Thursday, Biden declared that he believed in the integrity of the electoral process in Brazil. Faced with Bolsonaro’s request, the American president would have changed the subject. At the end of the meeting, the leader of the Brazilian executive told reporters that he and Biden “talked superficially” about the election. The press office of the Brazilian presidency did not return the report. The White House staff declined to comment on the matter.
