The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, said this Saturday (7) that all civilians who were sheltered at the Azovstal steelworks, in Mariupol, in the east of the country, had been evacuated.

2022″Today, we were able to withdraw 50 women, children and elderly people from Azovstal. Tomorrow morning we will continue with the evacuation operation,” said Iryna, through message broadcast by Telegram. “This part of the Mariupol humanitarian operation has been completed.”

According to Iryna, the works were complex and there were “constant violations” of the ceasefire pact by Russian forces, which continue to fight Ukrainian resistance in the steel mill. 2022 The operation, according to the deputy prime minister, “was extremely slow”, and the evacuees’ destination will be the city from Zaporizhzhia, where most of those removed from the factory had already been taken.
