Ukraine and Russia make another prisoner swap

Russia and Ukraine carried out a new prisoner exchange this Saturday, with 50 people on each side, announced Denis Pushilin, leader of the self-proclaimed republic of Donetsk, illegally annexed by Moscow in 30 of September. The exchange was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which reported that, “as a result of a negotiation process, 50 Russian military personnel were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime.” The freed Russian military will be transported to Moscow for medical care.

In a statement released by the press office, Pushilin stated that most of the 17 prisoners being handed over to the Ukrainian side are members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The last prisoner exchange had been carried out on the day 17 of the month past. According to Pushilin, Russia took back 50 people and delivered 50 to Ukraine, as two women preferred to stay in Russian territory.
