The Rig Ending Explained Season 1 Recap, Review And Ending Explained

The Rig Ending Explained: The Rig by David Macpherson is a gripping science fiction play that turns the issues that our contemporary society faces into a narrative. The Rig serves as a stark reminder of both nature’s devastating power and the results of our current course of action.

There is plenty of historical evidence to support the idea that nature may and does offer solutions to our issues that we are unable to solve. It is claimed that nature gives as much as it takes.

We no longer speak out against exploitation with the intensity we should since it has become so usual in our culture and because we are used to seeing how others abuse and exploit resources. It’s time, in my opinion, to learn what transpired on the rig and whether the crew was able to identify the problem.

How does The Rig end?

In relation to that, the final picture shifts to Kasey, who is shaken violently, and a giant shadow can be seen descending on the mainland on the horizon, presumably coming from the wave.

The Episode Review

So, where do you even begin with that? The Rig ends with a lacklustre conclusion that frustratingly leaves everything on a cliffhanger and barely gets anything resolved. It’ll be fascinating to see how many viewers stick with it after this episode given that the authors are obviously counting on a second season to continue the mythology and concepts discussed here. The shoddy writing persists right up until the ridiculously absurd helicopter incident at the very end.

The Rig Ending Explained

Why did Coake send two helicopters instead of only one when we could see there was a large gathering of people on the rig and very little room remaining, and yet we are told that everyone survived? When Magnus and the others arrive, all the individuals who were waiting at the bottom of the stairs have vanished despite Hutton and the others’ instructions to load “as many people as possible” onto the first helicopter.

Of course, we’ve talked a lot about awful writing in these recaps, and The Rig is a prime example of the worst of it. This mystery series is made up of a huge patchwork of various inspirations, some terrible language, and logical errors. Many individuals who have persevered through this to see a satisfying resolution are going to find that enormous cliffhanger annoying in the end. What a loss.
