Shehzada OTT release date: When and where to watch Kartik Aryan, Kriti Sanon’s family drama

This action flick is directed by Rohit Dhawan (Varun’s brother) and co-produced by T-Series Films, Haarika & Hassine Creations, Geetha Arts, and Brat Films (all of whom are directed by David Dhawan’s son). Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde appear in the original Telugu film, which will be remade as Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (initiated as AVPL) in 2020.

Shehzada OTT Release Date

Shehzada is all set to have its ott release and the film will be available for streaming from 01 April 2023 on Netflix.

The remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo gets off to a promising start, with a nurse and an office clerk, Valmiki (Paresh Rawal), exchanging the latter’s son with the son of business billionaire Randeep Jindal (Ronit Bose Roy). Bantu, the son of Valmiki, has spent the last 25 years living in a middle-class household with his cruel father. The film chronicles the young man’s journey of self-discovery and his commitment to saving his true family from the evil drug lord Sarang (Sunny Hinduja).

With too many tracks — such as Bantu’s hotshot lawyer girlfriend Samara (Kriti Sanon) being set to marry a mollycoddled Raj Jindal (Ankur Rathee), family members embezzling money, Randeep and his wife Yashu’s (Manisha Koirala) strained marriage, and above all, dreaded criminals insistent on using Jindals’ business to peddle drugs, the central theme of what fate holds for the two exchanged boys gets sidelined.

These, like many other sequences, are sewn together incoherently, such as when Bantu valiantly confronts the goons who torment his younger sister, when he rescues Samara from a client who will not take no for an answer, and when he smashes Sarang’s men.

When and Where to Watch Shehzada

You can watch this family drama on Netflix from 01 April 2023.

Bollywood’s Shehzada, a direct adaptation of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), was bombed at the box office. The production cost is around Rs. 85 crores. In fact, it hasn’t even reached the point of break-even so far. The movie’s gross so far is around Rs. 40 crores, and it’s moving at a snail’s pace at the box office. The movie premiered in theatres on February 17, 2023. Seeing as Shehzada marked Kartik Aaryan’s comeback to theatres after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, audiences had high hopes for the film. The picture, however, was met with lukewarm reviews and failed to make a splash at the box office. From April 1, 2023, you can watch Shehzada on Netflix in its digital form.

Shehzada has raked in a total of 32.50 crores Indian Rupees (net) at the country’s box office as of this moment in time. It is a true nightmare considering that Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had made 55.96 crores in its opening weekend alone, however, the lifetime earnings of this film are far lower than that sum. At the moment, the movie is only being shown in a very select few theatres, and it is anticipated that the run will come to an end on Friday.

What’s the story of Shehzada

Since Bantu was a young child, his father Valmiki has shown contempt for him and largely ignored him. Bantu’s life is turned upside down when he discovers that he was switched at birth with the son of a millionaire.

As Bantu was growing up, he was subjected to his father’s neglect and criticism, which only made things worse. Before he learns that the affluent Jindals are his biological parents and not Valmiki, his supervisor Samara is the first person to show him love and affection. During this time, he believes that Valmiki is his biological mother. Bantu then comes to the conclusion that he should try to win the affection of the Jindal family and shield them from the dangers they are experiencing without exposing his true identity.

Cast & Crew of Shehzada

Without bringing anything new to the table, Kartik plays the incorrigible, fearless, and good-hearted Bantu with ease and delivers competently in the action scenes. Kriti Sanon is gorgeous in every shot, but she doesn’t do much then look pretty. Both Paresh Rawal and Ronit give outstanding performances, but the latter could have used more time in front of the camera. In a humorous cameo, Rajpal Yadav performs his signature silly routine, although this segment ultimately serves little narrative purpose.

Not only is Sudeep Chatterjee’s cinematography solid, but his slow-motion and macro footage of the battle scenes is worth highlighting on its own. Only the title track, “Shehzada,” sung by Sonu Nigam, really jumps out.

Of course, the tosh is also enhanced by the presence of Kriti Sanon, who plays a “hotshot lawyer” despite never actually entering a courtroom. She comes and goes in the Jindal’s lives as a possible suitor for their spoiled brat of a son (the same kid Valmiki gave birth to who is now living the high life). Because Raj has nothing to do with his life now that he has a degree from abroad, he has taken to driving a toy automobile around home.
