Sensex down 119 points, below Nifty 47,600; Shares of Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank fell | Sensex up 133 points, Nifty closes at 13981; Ultratech Cement and Bajaj Finance shares rose

Shares of Ultratech Cement, Bajaj Finance, Maruti Suzuki, M&M, Tech Mahindra rise, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS fall

Indian stock markets closed higher today. Sensex rose 133 points to close at 47,746. Nifty rose 49 points to close at 13981. Shares of Ultratech Cement, Bajaj Finance, Maruti Suzuki, M&M, Tech Mahindra and others closed higher on the Sensex. Ultratech Cement rose 4.11 percent to close at 5,355.30. Bajaj Finance rose 2.63% to close at 5,334.50. However, shares of IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS and others closed lower. The IndusInd Bank fell 1.62 percent to close at 898.80. Sun Pharma fell 1.08 percent to close at 584.10.

Also bought in Asian markets
Hong Kong’s Hanseng Index rose 307 points (1.49%) to 26,965 in Asian trading today. Apart from that, the Chinese Shanghai Imposite Index is also trading up 30 points to 3409. The Japanese Nikkei Index was down 80 points, or 0.29%, to 27487.

Decline in US markets
US markets fell on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.22% to close at 30,335. Thus, the S&P 500 Index fell 8 points to close at 3,727. Apart from that, the Nasdaq Index also closed at 12,850 with a drop of 49 points.

Huge purchase in European markets
European markets, especially Great Britain, saw some big buying yesterday. The FTSE index closed 100 points (1.55%) higher at 6602. Apart from this, France’s CAC index rose 23 points (0.42 percent) to close at 5611. The Germany’s DAX index, on the other hand, closed 28 points (0.21%) down to 13,761.
