Shares of Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv rise, Titan Company, Nestle, HUL, Infosys, HCL Tech fall
The Sensex dropped 81 points to close at 48,093 on Thursday. While the Nifty fell 8 points to close at 14137. Shares of Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv and Larsen closed higher on the Sensex. Bharti Airtel rose 3.75% to close at 545.30. The IndusInd Bank rose 3.22 percent to close at 952.05. However, shares of Titan Company, Nestle, HUL, Infosys, HCL Tech and others closed lower. Titan Company fell 2.03% to close at 1,542.40. Nestlé fell 2.00% to close at 18,139.75.
Boom in Asian markets
Japan’s Nikkei index was up 485 points to 27,541 points in Asian trading today. Apart from that, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is also trading at 3,563 with a 12 point increase. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index lost 64 points to 27,628.
The market closed lower on Wednesday
The Sensex closed lower at 48,174.06 and the Nifty closed at 14,146.25 yesterday. After a first rise, the market fell sharply in the afternoon. Shares of Reliance, Bajaj Finance and ITC fell more than 2 to 2 percent. Shares of 3,233 companies were traded on the BSE on Wednesday, of which 1,567 shares fell sharply, with the stock closing 48 percent lower on the stock exchange. Investors, however, bought bank, real estate and metal stocks.
