Shortly before, Russian troops had vacated the site, which is 30 kilometers north of the city of Kharkiv. On Saturday, Russia had announced the withdrawal of troops from southern Kharkiv, attributing it to the decision to reinforce the contingent in Donetsk, but some analysts believe that this is not a strategic withdrawal, but a flight of Russian soldiers before of the Ukrainian advance.1112430211124302According to the Institute for the Study of War ( ISW), in the last five days the Ukrainians have reconquered more territory than the Russians had been able to occupy since April. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine had recovered 2,000 square kilometers of its territory, while Armed Forces Commander General Valery Zalunsky said in his Telegram account that the recovered area would reach 3,000 square kilometers. According to Ukrainian authorities, not all Russian troops have managed to get out of the Kharkiv region, and there are still isolated motorized units whose members are in panic.11124302
