Ravi Teja’s action-drama Mass Jathara, co-starring Sreeleela, is all set for its digital release after a disappointing theatrical run. The film, which opened to huge expectations, turned out to be one of the biggest box-office disasters for a star-driven Telugu film in recent times. Most theatres reportedly removed the film within the first week due to extremely low footfalls.

OTT Deal Remains Intact Despite Theatrical Failure
Fortunately for the makers, the OTT deal with Netflix had been finalized even before the film hit theatres. While earlier rumours suggested that Netflix might back out owing to the movie’s poor performance, sources confirm that the streaming partnership is still on track.
Mass Jathara will start streaming on November 28, 2025, in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Star Cast and Crew
Directed by Bhanu Bogavarapu, the action-comedy features a massive supporting cast that includes: Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Naveen Chandra, Praveen, Samuthirakani, Tarak Ponnappa, Ajay Ghosh, Murali Sharma, Ajay Rathnam, VTV Ganesh. The film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, while Vidhu Ayyanna handled cinematography.
A High-Budget Film with a Shockingly Low Gross
Made on an estimated budget of ₹90 crore, Mass Jathara managed to collect only ₹19.3 crore worldwide a staggering loss by any measure. Box office trackers reportedly stopped updating numbers after the first week due to the film’s steep decline.
Ravi Teja and Sreeleela’s Box Office Struggles Continue
For Ravi Teja, Mass Jathara marks his fourth consecutive box office failure, intensifying concerns over his choice of scripts. Sreeleela, too, has been struggling, with the film adding to her growing list of back-to-back flops. Her last hit was the 2023 blockbuster Bhagavanth Kesari.
Industry insiders believe her prolonged dry spell may begin to affect her standing in Tollywood, especially with several star films underperforming.
Upcoming Projects for Sreeleela
Despite recent setbacks, Sreeleela has promising projects lined up: Bollywood debut with an untitled film starring Kartik Aaryan, Parasakti (Tamil) – a period political drama directed by Sudha Kongara.
