What’s the story of Raththam

The novel Raththam written by CS Amudhan starts out with a homicide. Chezhiyan, the editor of a media house, was murdered by a follower of an actor who was upset by a negative piece that had been published about his hero. The attacker was a fan of the actor who was furious over the narrative. It seems to be a simple emotional act, but what if the murderer is also a victim in this case? After Ranjith Kumar (Vijay Antony) makes his entrance into the plot and the office of the media house, the film poses this thought-provoking query to the audience as soon as he arrives.

Ranjith is or was a well-known investigative journalist. Following a difficult period in his personal life, he decided to leave his career in order to focus on being a parent to his small daughter, Arumpavai, and to raise her in Kolkata. Naturally, he goes back to his profession, and because Chezhiyan was his buddy as well as the son of his publisher and the figure he looked up to as a father, Rathnam Pandian (Nizhalgal Ravi), he ends up researching the murder, only to discover that there is a broader network behind the murder of Chezhiyan and a few other people. Is it possible for him to identify the mastermind behind this nefarious plot before any more people are hurt?

Raththam OTT release date

The crime thriller ‘Raththam’, directed by CS Amudhan, offers a tale that is well-written and compelling. In the movie, he presents the idea of a contradiction in which a murderer who is responsible for the deaths of others is also a victim. There is a greater power that exerts its influence over everyone. However, the themes are never completely utilised, and the end result is a generic thriller that is rather wordy.

The screenplay is uninteresting, and with the exception of the intermission block, there are no twists that genuinely get your blood pumping. ‘Raththam’ does, however, have some enjoyable interludes here and there. The battle between Kumar and the evildoer is low-key but nevertheless exciting to see. Sadly, there are very few of them.

The irritable and gloomy demeanour that is typically associated with Vijay Antony’s acting is a good fit for the role of Ranjith Kumar. But when it comes to portraying these highly delicate feelings, his acting is far too boisterous and a little bit excessively muscular.

The actress Mahima Nambiar turned out to be the true highlight of the film for me. CS Amudhan seeks to defy the stereotype with this character by flipping genders and also by not giving a backstory for that character that is cliched. This makes it a very challenging character to write.

And in the talk scene with Vijay Antony that takes place in the second half, Mahima has a really enticing charisma. It’s unfortunate that Amudhan decided to terminate the story of that individual in such a hurried manner. Nandita, Nizhalgal Ravi, both
