The President of Russia Vladimir Putin expressed his regret this Monday (01) to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for the deaths and damage caused by the heavy rains that hit part of the Northeast region, especially Greater Recife.
” Receive our deepest condolences for the tragic consequences of heavy rains and floods in your country’s northeastern states,” Putin said in a telegram posted on the Kremlin’s website.
He emphasized that Russia shares “the grief of those who have lost loved ones as a result of the widespread disaster”.
The number of deaths caused by heavy rains in Greater Recife reached this Monday at 18, and dozens of people are still missing, according to official sources.
