Russia announced this Friday (18) the start of the referendums on the annexation of Ukrainian territories to the Russian Federation, in a consultation on the intention of the residents. The Kremlin-orchestrated votes were widely denounced by Ukraine and the West as “a sham without any legal force”. The plebiscite is being held in the regions of Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk, partially controlled by the Russians.

The Russian agency Interfax published the question being asked to the inhabitants of the Zaporizhzhia province: “Are you in favor of the separation of the Zaporozhzhia region? of Ukraine, to the formation of an independent state and its entry into the Russian Federation?”
