The Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, recorded a video this Tuesday (25) declaring support for former President Lula (PT) in the second round of Brazilian elections. In the recording, Costa, who also held the post of secretary general of the Socialist Party of Portugal, says he “misses the close relations with Brazil” and also declares that the world needs a Brazil that participates in the great causes of humanity.

“The Prime Minister of Portugal obviously does not pronounces or interferes in the elections of our Brazilian brothers. But the secretary general of the PS (socialist party), the friend of Brazil, misses the close, friendly relations between Portugal and Brazil. The world needs a strong Brazil, a Brazil that participates in the great causes of humanity, such as fighting inequality, the fight for health, to face climate change. Brazil and the world need Lula da Silva. Lula, count on me”, says the head of the Portuguese government.
