President of Argentina congratulates “dear” Lula for leadership in the 1st round

The president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, congratulated his “dear” Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva this Sunday for his victory in the first round of the elections about the current ruler, Jair Bolsonaro, whom he will have to face in the second round.

“I congratulate my dear @LulaOficial on his victory in the first round and I convey my sincere respect to the people of Brazil for their profound democratic expression”, wrote the Argentine president on his official Twitter account.

Fernández accompanied the text with a photograph in which he appears shaking the hand of the PT candidate for the presidency of Brazil.

Previously, several ministers of the Argentine Executive celebrated Lula’s “great triumph”. 85318

Argentine Defense Minister Jorge Taiana wrote a message on his Twitter account in which, in addition to publishing a photo of himself with Lula, he described the result in this Sunday’s elections as a “great triumph” for the former president.85318

The holder of the Science, Technology and Innovation portfolio, Daniel Filmus, also classified the result achieved by the former president as “fabulous”.

“A person of 76 years that recovers from a huge persecution and returns to lead an electoral campaign”, highlighted the minister during his speech in a special of the Argentine public television dedicated to the Brazilian elections.85318

“We must trust that the personality of Lula, who allowed him to overcome adversities, will be decisive (…) A victory for Lula will have an impact on Argentine and Latin American politics”, added Filmus.
