the crime drama that just recently (on March 30) was released in theaters. One of the unexpected special songs featuring Sayyeshaa was also one of the factors that contributed to many people looking forward to the project.

When and Where to Watch Pathu Thala
You can watch this gangster drama on Amazon Prime Video from 27 April 2023.
The movie isn’t perfect, but it’s a fun enough gangster flick that most fans of STR will be pleased with regardless of its shortcomings. The climactic fight scene is supported by an effective background score by AR Rahman, which connects with the audience on a personal level and amplifies the scene’s impact. However, a song featuring Simbu in the second half of the movie could have been omitted because it does not contribute significantly to the development of the plot. In her role as the district collector, Priya Bhavani Shankar gives a solid performance; yet, the flashback scenes she shares with Gautham Karthik could have had a greater emotional impact.

Pathu Thala, which is a remake of Shivarajkumar’s popular Kannada film Mufti, is enjoyable despite the fact that it does not have any unique elements and that its plot is predictable. There are a few twists and turns you did not see coming, such as the presence of another spy in AGR’s fort, but other than that, the movie goes exactly like you anticipated it would.
Melodramatic and out-of-date is how best to describe the apparent emotional exchange that takes place between AGR and his sister, the two of whom do not communicate with one another. In a movie that is typically cold and aggressive, even the scenes that illustrate the love that people have for AGR feel like they are trying too hard to be dramatic. However, these are not the most significant issues facing Pathu Thala.
What’s the story of Pathu Thala
An undercover police officer named Shakthivel, played by Gautham Karthik, is the protagonist of this drama. He is tasked with looking into the disappearance of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (Santhosh Pratap). He is convinced that a notorious criminal known as AGR (Silambarasan TR) is the one responsible. Yet, because to AGR’s dominant position in the sand mining industry, it is difficult for Shakthivel to collect evidence that can be used against him. Although Shakthivel is working to earn AGR’s trust, he stumbles upon disturbing truths that cause him to question his resoluteness.
Cast & Crew of Pathu Thala
Due to the intensity of Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik’s performances, we are able to overlook some of the logical errors that were committed by the writer. Particularly impressive is the way Gautham pulls off the role of an undercover police officer.
The technical aspects of the film are fairly well, with only a few of the pictures being slightly out of focus. The portrayal given by Gautham Vasudev Menon as the Deputy Chief Minister is laudable, and the technical aspects of the film are also extremely effective.

The gangster drama includes a few carefully selected moments that give the audience the chills. Take, for instance, the beginning of Simbu’s speech. The filmmakers tantalize the viewer with images of Simbu’s AGR but refrain from actually showing the actor’s face in any of the scenes.
About the time of the intermission, he makes his impressive entrance to the throbbing tune that AR Rahman composed, and we can’t help but cheer for him. The audience will be on the edge of their seats during the chariot sequence involving Simbu and Gautham Karthik, as well as during the conclusion.
