We now know when Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue by Akshay Kumar will be available on OTT. The movie didn’t do well at the box office when it first came out on October 6. It would only be able to bring in about Rs 31 crore.
Mission Raniganj OTT Release Date
Mission Raniganj is all set to premiere on 01 December 2023 on Netflix
“Mission Raniganj” is going to make its debut on Netflix on December 1st, and it is going to be an enthralling cinematic investigation of the underground mining history of India. The movie, which is based on the real-life experiences of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, tells the story of India’s first successful coal mine rescue attempt, which took place in November 1989 and was commanded by Gill. In the film, which was directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor, the story of the rescue mission is told in a way that is both captivating and emotionally engaging.
However, despite having an intriguing idea and a star-studded ensemble that included Akshay Kumar, Pavan Malhotra, and Kumud Mishra, “Mission Raniganj” was unable to achieve a satisfactory result at the box office around the world. It is believed that the theatrical run, which began on October 6th, will come to an end with earnings that are lower than the fifty crore gross level.
The film, which was particularly low in pre-release anticipation and seen minimal pre-sales for an Akshay Kumar starrer, did not match the projected level of success despite the actor’s renowned track record. The over-the-top (OTT) rights of “Mission Raniganj” were acquired by Netflix India, despite the film’s lacklustre performance at the box office.
When and Where to Watch Mission Raniganj
You can watch this survival thriller on Netflix from 01 December 2023.
On December 1st, the movie, which was directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, will be made available on Netflix. Additionally, the over-the-top (OTT) platform published a teaser for the film on their website in conjunction with the announcement. Jaswant Singh Gill, who, in 1989, rescued sixty-five miners who were trapped in Mahabir colliery in Raniganj, West Bengal, is the protagonist of the film Raniganj, in which Akshay Kumar plays the part of Jaswant Singh Gill.
In order to save the miners, Gill came up with a unique steel capsule that provided them with protection. Ramaswamy Venkataraman, who was serving as President of India at the time, presented him with the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak in recognition of his bravery in the year 1991.
What’s the story of Mission Raniganj
An accident that occurred in the mining industry in Raniganj Coalfields in 1989 is the subject of this narrative. The mining explosion caused flooding, and about seventy-one miners became trapped inside the mine as a result of the flooding. During the time that the authorities were having trouble coming up with a solution, Jaswanth Singh Gill devised a plan to escape the individuals who were trapped inside the mine by constructing a hole that would link with the highest point inside the mine. In Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, we learn how Gill and his crew were able to do that in a short amount of time despite the many political and situational obstacles that were in front of them.
Cast & Crew of The Mission Raniganj
Praineeti Chopra will play the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar in the film “Mission Raniganj.” Akshay Kumar will play the major role in the film. Other notable actors who appear in the film include Rajesh Sharma, Gaurav Prateek, Ravi Kishan, Kumud Mishra, Virendra Saxena, and Pavan Malhotra. Pavan Malhotra also provides a significant performance.
Film director Tinu Suresh Desai is responsible for the “Mission Raniganj” film. Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, and Ajay Kapoor are the individuals responsible for producing this movie, which is being distributed by Pooja Entertainment. Aseem Mishra is the one who is responsible for the cinematography.
In every way, Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Akshay Kumar, and the only thing that is different is the beard, which obviously does not appear all that real. The delivery of the dialogue is the same, but it is done in a different manner. It was quite upsetting to witness Kumud Mishra being given the opportunity to portray the part of an elderly citizen who is completely useless and whose only characteristic is smoking cigarettes with a trembling hand. Despite being the sole Bengali character in this film which takes place in West Bengal, Dibyendu Bhattacharya is given a persona that is reminiscent of a caricature.
A number of actors, including Pawan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, and Jameel Khan, are included in the cast; nevertheless, every one of them is assigned a character that is so poorly written. In her role as Jaswant Singh Gill’s aggressively supportive and self-assured wife, Parineeti Chopra essentially reprises her Kesari character throughout the narrative.
