After the confirmation of the results of the polls in the second round this Sunday (30) in Brazil, world leaders spoke out for the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The first congratulations came from left-wing Latin American leaders, such as Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who declared a succinct “Viva Lula”, even before the end of voting, to commemorate Lula’s victory in the second round of elections this Sunday ( ) and the return of the left to power in Brazil. Argentina’s vice president, Cristina Kirchner, thanked the president-elect for, in her words, returning “joy and hope” to the region with her victory in the second round of elections: “Today more than ever, love and much happiness. Thank you, people of Brazil. Thank you, comrade Lula, for returning joy and hope to our South America”, wrote the former president on her Twitter account after Lula’s victory.
Dictators of Venezuela and Cuba celebrate Lula’s victory
Dictators of Venezuela and Cuba, historically linked to the PT, used social media to congratulate Lula’s victory. “We celebrate the victory of the Brazilian people, who in this #out, elected @LulaOficial as their new president. Biden and Trudeau congratulate Lula on his victory
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, congratulated Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential elections in Brazil, which he said were “free, fair and reliable”: “I hope to work together to continue the cooperation of the two countries in the coming months and years”, he added.
