At least people were killed and dozens were injured on Sunday (5) in two communities in Canada after stabbing, said police who also reported having started a search for two suspects, identified as Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson.

“We located individuals deceased in

locations in the James Smith Cree Nation community and in Weldon, Saskatchewan,” he said. Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Rhonda Blackmore, at a press conference.

“Several other victims were injured, of which were transported to various hospitals,” he added. “We are actively looking for the two suspects and investigating the many crime scenes”, he concluded.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority said in a statement that it has activated emergency protocols to deal with “a high number of critically ill patients”. “We can confirm that multiple people are being screened and cared for at multiple locations and that a request has been made for additional staff to help deal with the situation,” he added.
