Celebrated director Vishal Bhardwaj of the Bollywood film industry has formed a partnership with the well-known online streaming service Netflix to produce his upcoming highly anticipated spy thriller film Khufiya. The film is based on the well-known espionage novel Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan, who is also known for penning other espionage novels such as “The Zero-Cost Mission/ The Willy Agent”, “Inside Nepal/The Walk-In”, “Terror in Islamabad”, and “The Willy Agent The Zero Cost Mission”.
Khufiya OTT Release Date
Khufiya is all set to be premiered on 05 October 2023 on Netflix.
The promotional video for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next spy thriller, Khufiya, has at long last been released. Netflix’s latest video for its Tabu-led thriller (Drishyam) goes into detail about its espionage mission involving a mole within India’s R&AW departments, selling crucial data to the enemy.
This comes after almost a year of teasers in which actors stared off into the distance. Tabu plays the hard-nosed agent Krishna Mehra, who is forced to juggle her dual identity as a spy and a lover in order to track down the culprit. A significant portion of the plot revolves around this character.
Bhardwaj bases the film on Amar Bhushan’s novel ‘Escape to Nowhere,’ which was published in 2012, but he alters the gender of the main character because he believes Tabu would be more successful in the part. Netflix is planning to release Khufiya on October 5 of this year.
When and Where to Watch Khufiya
You can watch this Spy Thriller on Netflix from 05 October 2023.
On September 18, the teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Netflix film ‘Khufiya’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj was released. On October 5, the film will be made available for streaming on Netflix.
On Monday, the teaser for the next movie was shown to the public for the first time. Based on what is shown in the trailer, ‘Khufiya’ appears to be a narrative about love, devotion, revenge, and betrayal.
The book “Escape to Nowhere,” authored by Amar Bhusan, a former chief of R&AW’s counterespionage team, is reportedly a major source of inspiration for the film, which is said to be based on genuine events and is heavily inspired by the book.
Vishal Bhardwaj has stated that “the world of espionage has always captivated me; as a result, I’m very looking forward to exploring this genre with Khufiya.” This film is the first time that Vishal Bhardwaj has worked with Netflix. In addition to that, I was able to collaborate with Tabu and Ali Fazal for the second time, as well as Wamiqa Gabbi for the first time, thanks to this film.
Wamiqa Gabbi and Ali Fazal are both tremendously talented performers. In addition to that, it marks the beginning of my cooperation with Netflix, and I cannot wait to share this enthralling story with viewers in 190 different countries.
What’s the story of Khufiya

The mole is crafty and well-placed. However, Mehra is not simply a spy; rather, she is a complicated lady who has a mysterious past. Mehra is forced to face her personal problems and vulnerabilities as she investigates the identity of the mole in the organization. Will she be able to locate the dangerous offender and bring him to justice, or will she give in to the pressures that are putting her in danger?
