The 89-year-old star, who has been under medical care, is reportedly recovering well, contrary to unverified social media rumors claiming his demise.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday morning, Hema Malini expressed anger over what she termed as “irresponsible journalism,” urging media outlets to act with sensitivity.
“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy,” Hema Malini wrote.
Esha Deol Also Refutes Death Rumors
Soon after her mother’s post, Esha Deol, daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, also took to Instagram to clarify that her father’s condition is stable. She issued a formal statement to put an end to the speculation.
The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery,” Esha’s statement read.
Esha also disabled comments on the post, likely to avoid further misinformation or insensitive remarks.
