8014134339001US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Foreign Minister China’s foreigners, Wang Yi, and other leaders are expected to attend the G meeting07 in the Indonesian resort of Bali between Thursday and Friday of this week. The event will be in preparation for the summit that will take place at the same location in November.

This time, the world’s largest nations must address Russia’s war in Ukraine and its impact on global energy and food security. Due to the current geopolitical context, the meeting should expose the group’s lack of unity. It will, for example, be the first time that Blinken and Lavrov have been in the same room since January.

Blinken is expected to be an active participant in the meeting, while “he will not be able to act as usual with the Russian Federation” due to the context of the war, a US State Department spokesperson said.

8014134339001 German Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Christian Wagner said that it will not be a “normal summit” or “business as usual”. Germany holds the presidency of the G7 and will coordinate in Bali how to respond to Lavrov “in light of the war in Ukraine”, Wagner said.8014134339001
