It’s hard to find a more festive drink than sparkling wine. Light, refreshing, with those little bubbles that itch the tongue and stimulate the senses. We’re even nicer after a cup. Below, a list of five sparkling wines to liven up your end of the year, even from a distance. Come, 2021!
Salton Ouro Brut Rosé (54 R $)
Launch of the Salton cellar, which celebrated its 110th anniversary in August, made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties using the Charmat method. It has abundant perlage, essential to maintain the liveliness of the drink, and a delicate pink color. It has notes of citrus and candied and dried fruit, as well as yeast. Combines with cheeses, white meats and light risottos. It has an alcohol content of 11.5%.
Cainelli Sparkling Prosecco Brut (R $ 59.90 – Evino)
Produced by Cainelli, a friendly family winery in Vale dos Vinhedos, in Rio Grande do Sul, with the Prosecco variety. It has a straw yellow color, a fine and uniform perlage. It is fruity with notes of peach and pear, hints of yeast and toast, with good persistence. Pairs well with birds. 11.5% alcohol.
Widow of Vernay Brut (R $ 82.90 – Casa Flora)
One of my favorite sparkling wines, Veuve du Vernay is produced using the Charmat method in the Burgundy region of France. It uses Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes. It has a straw yellow color, a fine and long perlage with good acidity and aromas of fruits such as apple and pear, in addition to delicate floral notes. Harmonizes with salads, poultry, seafood and has 11% alcohol.
Sparkling Marina (R $ 98 – Wine lovers)
For those who prefer a less dry wine, Marina Espumante is the right tip. Produced in Spain with the Moscatel variety according to the Charmat method, it has a pale color and intense perlage, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Serve with canapes, fruit or light desserts. The alcohol content is light, 7%, which makes it perfect for a welcome drink.
Portal da Calçada Cuvée Prestige Brut Green Wine (R $ 142 – World Wine)
Sparkling wine made with Arinto and Loureiro grape varieties using the Charmat method. It has a straw yellow color and an aroma of fruit like green apples and pears and a citrus touch of lemon and grapefruit. Serve with light starters such as canapes, carpaccios, fish, pasta and soft cheeses. A little more powerful, it has 12.5% alcohol.
