Echo 3 Season 2: Is It Coming To Apple TV+ This May? Here’s What We Know!

The third season of Echo on Apple TV+ centers on the kidnapping of American scholar Amber Chesborough (Jessica Ann Collins) close to the Colombian and Venezuelan borders.

Her brother, Sergeant Alex “Bambi” Chesborough (Luke Evans), and her new husband, Sergeant Prince Haas (Michiel Huisman), both of a U.S. Army special forces squad, are in command of the high-stakes rescue mission. Echo 3’s first season will come to a close on January 13; a second season of the show has not yet been confirmed by Apple TV+.

This drama draws inspiration from two works: the 2008 novel When Heroes Fly by Amir Gutfreund and the 2018 Israeli television series Omri Givon. The Hurt Locker (2008) and Zero Dark Thirty (2011) Oscar winners Hurt Locker and Echo 3 creator Mark Boal hopes for a longer run than the Israeli adaption, which only lasted one season.

He said, “I feel fairly good about how the show’s performing,” to a question from Variety regarding the potential of a second season in December 2022, noting that “it was envisioned as a multi-season affair.”

Here is all the information you need to know about Echo 3 Season 2 while you wait for confirmation in either direction.

The Echo 3 Season 2 Potential Premiere Date

The first season’s 10 episodes were filmed on location in Colombia and the United States “over more than 200 days,” according to a Variety interview with Boal.

According to reports, production took place between June 2021 and February 2022, with a November 2022 release date. Season 2 of the programme presumably won’t premiere until 2024, if it is renewed. When it becomes available, more details on Echo 3 Season 2 will be added here.

The Echo 3 Season 2 Cast

There have been no further casting announcements as of yet, although the first season also included James Udom (Mitch), Martina Gusmán (Violeta Matiz), and Bradley Whitford (Eric Haas II), in addition to Evans, Huisman, and Collins. In an interview with ScreenRant that was published in November, Boal, who made his television debut with Echo 3, referred to the casting process as a “huge treasure hunt.”

He began by adding, “The choice of who you cast is very significant, it’s arguably the most important choice you can make as a filmmaker, so I took that hunt pretty seriously, and spent a lot of time on it,” before going on to detail a conversation he had with Evans. I realized as our chat went on that he was the perfect partner for me.

The “similar thing” happened to Collins and Huisman as well. Jessica Collins was also a no-brainer, according to Boal, because she “has so much [skill],” “she’s so gifted as an actor, and so much [ranging],” in addition to Michiel.

Despite the fact that Luke is relatively well-known, as the director, “I really was concentrating on the people who would not necessarily go for the, but really trying to consider in terms of talent and synchrony with the character.”

Conclusion

The first season of Apple TV+’s Echo 3, which follows the effort to save American researcher Amber Chesborough, is coming to an end, leaving viewers to wonder if there will be a second season. The show’s creator, Mark Boal, is optimistic that it will fare better than the Israeli version from which it was adapted.

If the show is renewed, it’s possible that production won’t begin until 2023, and the cast hasn’t even been made public yet. Boal emphasized the importance of casting correctly, keeping in mind the actor’s talent and chemistry with the part.
