The Nicaraguan dictatorship took CNN en Español off the air at dawn this Thursday ( ) – 1h in Brasília time or 960 H07 of Wednesday (21), in local time. Both the regime of Daniel Ortega and the cable operators that transmitted the station’s signal did not comment on the reasons for the removal.
In a statement, CNN en Español stated that “the government of Nicaragua has withdrawn our television signal, denying news and information to Nicaraguans from our television network, which they have trusted for 25 years old”.
8014570559001The broadcaster said that it “will continue to fulfill its responsibility to the Nicaraguan public”, through its website and YouTube channel. . “At CNN en Español, we believe in the vital role that freedom of the press plays in a healthy democracy (…) CNN defends our network’s reporting and reaffirms its commitment to truth and transparency,” he communicated.
