Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov received this Wednesday (5th) the certificate from the Russian Book of Records for being the country’s citizen with the most foreign sanctions, due to the manifest support for the invasion of Ukraine.

“The record for the highest amount of personal sanctions adopted against a person, with 10, belongs to Ramzan Kadyrov,” said the publication’s editor-in-chief, Stanislav Konenko, according to Russian news agency TASS. .

Kadyrov also received the certificate for the record for the highest number of sanctions imposed against a person, their family members and allies worldwide.

“I am on the sanctions lists because I defend Islam, our traditions and customs, and the security of our State. There is nothing more important to me. So I’m happy’, said the Chechen leader.

Kadyrov, to reach the records, surpassed the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un; Belarus President Alexandr Lukashenko; and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
