Cast and crew of Boomer Uncle
Oviya, Robo Shankar, M. S. Bhaskar, Sona Heiden, GP Muthu, and others star in Yogi Babu.
Thillairaja wrote this humorous story, and Swadees MS directed it. Dharma Prakash Santhan Anebajagane wrote the music, while Subash Dhandabani directed the film. Anbu was the film’s producer, Karthik K. Thillai.
Yogi Babu makes an effort to liven up the scene, but the script’s emphasis on quick humor overshadows his comedic abilities. The secondary characters, especially Nesam’s pals, are flat and, at best, ridiculous in their infatuations with the main ladies. There is little room for real laughter because of the grating puerile humor.
Boomer Uncle’s overuse of cheesy visual effects and a relentlessly loud soundtrack are further drawbacks. Any potential for humorous timing or character development is further undermined by these aspects.
The second part of the movie devolves into blatant ridiculousness, taking a turn for the worse. The movie’s title is finally revealed, but it feels like too little, too late, leaving the audience uninterested.
It doesn’t get any better with the mansion’s small layout of just a few rooms. Seshu’s persona receives plenty of on-screen time. Although he plays a major role and recounts the events to a producer, his character is reduced to a vehicle for loud, jarring humor. His gifts are being squandered. Although Oviya appears attractive, it’s unclear if her billing as “Oviya of Bigg Boss” is appropriate.
