Will Book Club 2 Finally Be Released On May 12, 2023?

In films not about superheroes, big names are rarely present. Even more exceptional is having some of the top actresses of their era in the same cast. In 2018, a cast of once-in-a-generation superstars appeared in Book Club, the story of a group of friends whose lives are turned upside down after they decide to read the scandalous best-selling book Fifty Shades of Grey.

This year’s release of Book Club: The Next Chapter sees them returning for an unexpected but much awaited sequel.

Diane Keaton won an Oscar for her iconic performance in Annie Hall; Mary Steenburgen won Oscars for films like Melvin & Howard and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape; and Candice Bergen, who gained notoriety as the lead character on the popular television series Murphy Brown, are all back for another adventure. Jane Fonda gained notoriety in the 1960s and 1970s with political dramas like Coming Home and camp classics like Barbarella.

The scoop on how, when, and where to see this action-packed comedy, which stars a who’s who of Hollywood’s finest, is provided below.

Book Club 2 Release Date Announced

Book Club 2 will be made available on May 12th, 2023, which falls on Mother’s Day weekend. Book Club made its debut around this time in 2018, and since then, its commercial success has been evident.

Together with the mature female audience the film is aiming for, the comedy sequel’s opening weekend ticket sales will undoubtedly help people who wouldn’t ordinarily watch the movie taking their mothers to celebrate Mother’s Day. Even more likely is the possibility that actual book clubs will attend Book Club in droves.

The Cast of Book Club 2

Book Club 2 wouldn’t exist if Keaton, Fonda, Bergen, and Steenburgen hadn’t taken over their individual parts as Diane, Vivian, Sharon, and Carol. Together with the four leading ladies, additional returning actors include Andy Garcia as Mitchell, a pilot who fell in love with Diane in the previous movie, Craig T. Nelson as Bruce, Carol’s husband, Don Johnson as Arthur, and Vivian as Arthur, a former flame with whom she reunites.

Together with Giancarlo Giannini and Hugh Quarshie, Vincent Riotta, who plays Chef Gianni, is a newbie to the Book Club series. In June 2022, Riotta posted a photo of himself grinning on the set with Fonda and Steenburgen to Facebook.

Yes! The first Book Club movie is available to view for free online to all Paramount+ users on Paramount+.

Several Paramount films, like the 2018 blockbuster Book Club, are available on the streaming platform Paramount+, formerly known as CBS All Access. For customers in the United States, a premium membership costs $9.99 per month and an ad-supported plan costs $5.99 per month.

Will the Next Chapter Be Streamable the Same Day It Is Released in Theaters?

Sadly, Book Club: The Next Chapter won’t be available to stream on the day the movie debuts in theatres, and it’s not yet clear whose streaming service it will be on.

It will likely be available on Peacock, the parent company’s streaming service, when it leaves theatres, though, given NBCUniversal owns Focus Features. The first Book Club film is currently available for streaming on Paramount+.

Book Club: The Next Chapter Trailers

The first teaser for Book Club 2 was unveiled on December 19. Diane, as portrayed by Keaton, claims that Life is an excellent book. You never know what the page after that will contain. This sequel starts off in a really unexpected and novel way. Vivian, a recently engaged and fiercely independent woman, realizes that she and her fiancé cannot afford to ignore fate after reading the self-help book club pick.

They decide for Italy because they need to find excitement abroad. The girls have fun, as one would expect in this vintage setting, but then find even more thrilling activities when traveling by car, in a helicopter, on a boat, and at traffic lights going the opposite way.

Book Club: On April 12, The Next Chapter’s second trailer was released. The mischief they get up to while they’re in Italy is hinted at in this trailer. While walking throughout Rome, they get some unexpected catcalls and get to try on some stunning designer wedding gowns.

Vivian’s resistance to ending her single life makes up the core of the plot, but we also see Diane’s attempts to advance her relationship and Carol’s fortuitous contact with a charming Italian chef from her past, both of which pose ethical dilemmas.

Conclusion

The much awaited Book Club sequel, which will include famous actors Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen, and Candice Bergen, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on Mother’s Day weekend in 2023.

Fans can watch the first movie on Paramount+, even though it won’t be streaming on the same day as its theatrical release. Book Club: The Next Chapter follows the pals on an exciting Italian vacation as they deal with problems in their personal and interpersonal ties.
