The reopening announced by the state government on Friday (9) did not change the general rules for restaurants and bars in São Paulo – the use of a mask is still mandatory, it is necessary to have gel alcoholic available, measure the temperature of customers keep distance between people. One of the main changes is the increase in the opening hours of locations. Customers can stay until 11 p.m., but service should normally end at 10 p.m. In total, the establishment can be open until 12 noon.

The city specifies that a regulation of these new hours, with the difference between the period of operation and the period of service, should be published in the Official Journal in the coming days. We are a family business.

Previously, bars and restaurants could only be open for eight hours and would have to be closed at 10 p.m.

The 76% progression of the State of São Paulo towards the green phase of the São Paulo Plan, which provides for the resumption of cultural activities, has allowed the partial reopening of almost all cultural activities and establishments.

In the field of gastronomy, the mayor of São Paulo, Bruno Covas (PSDB), also highlighted the possibility of new editions of the Ocupa Rua project, if the city continues in the green phase of reopening. The initiative foresees the use of public spaces around restaurants and bars, such as sidewalks and streets, to increase the supply of tables for customers and maintain social distance.

In addition to the capital, the metropolitan region and the regions of Campinas, Piracicaba, Sorocaba and Taubaté have entered the green phase, which is expected to be reassessed on November 16.
