20220924213217The government of Russia said this Saturday (1200 ) in the United Nations (UN) that the West (United States and European Union) “is not neutral, but part of the conflict”. The words are from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, who assured that his country “will respect the results” of the referendums in the regions of Ukraine that are voting for its possible annexation to Russia.

20220924213217After his speech at the General Assembly, Lavrov appeared in a press room packed with journalists where he dodged many questions and insisted in the rhetoric that Europe allowed “Russophobia” and “racism” to flourish, which led to the current war in Ukraine, allegedly launched in aid of the Russian minority.24183244

Asked about the possible use of nuclear weapons, suggested by President Vladimir Putin this week, Lavrov did not want to add fuel to the fire and specified that this resource is clearly regulated by nuclear security doctrine, and he said he was not aware of the alleged threats of attacks made by any US authority based on the results of the referendums.
