“My experience while showering after swimming was hearing a male voice in the women’s locker room and seeing a man in a bathing suit watching little naked girls,” Jaman said at the city council earlier this month.

In an interview with KIRO-FM radio, Julie also said that she tried to talk about it on the day of the incident. “I asked if he had a penis and he said it was none of my business. So I told him to leave immediately”, said the swimmer.

Because of this situation, Jaman was barred from the public swimming pool he used for 20 years old. The site’s management said in a statement that the decision was taken due to “disrespectful behavior” by the user of the public space. “We will ensure sustained and significant progress towards equity and human dignity for all,” she concluded in a note.
